| Summary: In terms of
statistics, peripheral vascular disease is one of dominant illnesses
in the world as well as in our country and it is characterized by a
long-lasting, heterogeneous medical therapy and a high degree of
invalidity. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy with its effects on a hypoxic
tissue is an important and a powerful link in a therapeutic chain
for this disease. The mechanism of HBOT activity and its effects on
clinical practice is presented in this report. Key words: peripheral vascular disease, diabetic foot, hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
