  Summary:
In 2003, the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUA TLD) announced that tuberculosis is more widely spread than it used to be over a hundred years ago.
Serbia is one of the countries with an average incidence rate, with 2.400-2.700 newly registered cases per year.
Since 2004, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia has been implementing the project "Tuberculosis Control in Serbia", through the implementation of the strategy of directly controlled DOTS tuberculosis treatment and inclusion of at-risk population, which has led to a significant decrease of incidence rate. A successful treatment of tuberculosis is a key factor in the epidemic control. The most serious problem in fighting the epidemic is emergence of multi-drug resistant bacteria, as well as the lethal TB-HIV co-infection.
This study describes a post-primary lung tuberculosis in a 40-year-old male patient.
Key words: tuberculosis, tuberculostatics, ATD
